Chocolate Sponge Jars

Vegan Chocolate Sponge Jars Recipe:

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Yields: 4 Jars

Dry Ingredients:

  • 45g plain flour
  • 12g cocoa powder
  • 40g sweetener (avoid artificial)
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Wet Ingredients:

  • 70ml soya milk
  • 20ml vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar


  1. Pre-heat oven to 170*C (fan-oven)
  2. Mix the dry ingredients and wet ingredients separately until thoroughly combined
  3. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet and whisk with a fork until mixed
  4. Pour the mixture into the jars (3/4 full) and place in oven for 30 minutes (make sure jars are oven proof and keep an eye on them)
  5. You will know the sponge is cooked if you put a toothpick in and nothing sticks to it
  6. Leave to cool then enjoy!
