Sweet Potato Waffles

Vegan Sweet Potato Waffles Recipe:

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Yields: 6 waffles


  • 2 medium sweet potatoes (weighing ~ 350g)
  • 20ml almond milk (or other dairy free milk)
  • 180g chickpea flour (or normal flour)
  • 1 tbsp. Mixed herbs
  • 1 tbp. Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. Onion powder
  • Black pepper to taste


  1. Peel the potatoes and cut into small cubes and boil for ~20 minutes until soft
  2. Transfer the potatoes to a mixing bowl and mash, then add the soya milk and mix (herbs and salt/pepper can also be added at this point)
  3. Bit by bit add the flour and make sure you mix it thoroughly
  4. Pre-heat your waffle iron and spray with a non-stick spray (I use coconut spray)
  5. Add the mixture to your iron until golden, should take about 2-3 minutes (but will vary)
  6. Enjoy!
